Embarking on your educational journey with Parvis Kyoto International Academy is a step towards realising your academic and creative potential within a truly inspiring global community. Our admissions philosophy is holistic; we seek to identify individuals who not only demonstrate strong academic aptitude but also possess intellectual curiosity, a passion for their chosen field, innate creativity, and a commitment to contributing positively to our diverse learning environment. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who are eager to engage, explore, and excel.

Pathways to Admission:

Parvis Kyoto offers distinct entry points tailored to the different stages of your academic career:

  • High School Admissions (Grades 9-12 / Years 10-13 equivalent): We look for students with a strong academic record, a genuine enthusiasm for learning, and the potential to thrive in our challenging yet supportive environment. Applications typically require official academic transcripts from previous schooling, letters of recommendation from teachers who can speak to the applicant’s abilities and character, a personal statement outlining their interests and aspirations, and in some cases, an interview (either in person or online) to better understand the candidate’s motivations and suitability.
  • Undergraduate Admissions (Bachelor’s Degrees): Prospective undergraduates should demonstrate successful completion of a recognised secondary education curriculum with strong academic standing. Requirements include official transcripts, compelling letters of recommendation, and a well-crafted personal essay detailing their academic goals and reasons for choosing Parvis Kyoto. For programmes in Music, Fine Arts, and Design, a portfolio showcasing artistic talent and potential is a crucial component of the application. Specific subject prerequisites may apply to certain programmes, and these will be clearly outlined in the detailed application guidelines. An interview may also form part of the selection process.
  • Postgraduate Admissions (Master’s and Doctoral Degrees): Candidates for our Master’s and Doctoral programmes are expected to hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s for Doctoral entry) from an accredited institution, with a strong academic record. The application process typically involves submission of official transcripts, robust academic references, a detailed statement of purpose outlining research interests and career objectives, and for research-intensive programmes, a well-developed research proposal. Programmes in Music, Fine Arts, and Design will require a substantial portfolio or audition demonstrating advanced capabilities. An interview with faculty members is a common element of the postgraduate admissions process.

The Application Process:

Whilst specific requirements may vary slightly by programme and level of study, the general application process involves:

  1. Completion of the online application form available on our website.
  2. Submission of all required supporting documents, such as transcripts, letters of recommendation, personal statements, portfolios (if applicable), and research proposals (if applicable).
  3. Thorough review of the application by our admissions committee and relevant faculty members.
  4. An invitation to an interview, if deemed necessary for the selection process.
  5. Notification of the admissions decision within the timeframe specified for each application cycle.

What We Value in Our Applicants:

Beyond academic achievements, we seek individuals who embody:

  • Intellectual Curiosity: A genuine desire to explore, question, and learn.
  • Creativity and Innovation: The ability to think original thoughts and approach challenges with fresh perspectives.
  • Commitment and Resilience: Dedication to their studies and the perseverance to overcome obstacles.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A willingness to engage with peers and contribute to a shared learning experience.
  • Global Outlook: An appreciation for diverse cultures and a desire to understand global interconnectedness.
